God answers Solomon using the exact phrasing the king had used in his own petitions. Solomon had asked that God hear his prayers, and God immediately confirms that He has heard. This precise matching continues throughout the divine reply. Solomon had previously prayed for relief from specific disasters, such as drought, famine, locusts, and plague. In turn, God addresses every single one of these troubles individually, detailing exactly how He will respond to each crisis if the people repent and turn away from their evil paths [רש״י].
