I Chronicles 26:25Sefaria

Managing the vast wealth of the Temple required a highly organized system of dedicated caretakers. The responsibility for safeguarding these sacred treasures was entrusted to a specific lineage of Levites, tracing the family line of Moses' son, Eliezer. The relatives connected to the supreme overseer, Shebuel, are these direct descendants of Eliezer The subsequent chain of individuals is not a group of brothers, but rather a direct father-to-son lineage. Eliezer had an only son named Rehabiah, and the line continues generation after generation until reaching the fifth generation, culminating in a key figure named Shlomit Shlomit emerged as the head of the family, leading the numerous descendants of Rehabiah [רד״ק].

The Temple treasury was divided into various departments based on the time period and the specific purpose of the donations, such as funds allocated for sacrifices, building construction, or sacred vessels. While Shebuel maintained ultimate authority over the entire network, specific areas of responsibility were distributed among the Levites. Shlomit held a crucial role within this structure, as he was specifically appointed to manage all the later dedications, starting from the era of Samuel the Prophet. Under his direct care were all the spoils of war and the immense wealth dedicated by the prominent leaders of the nation during that time, including Samuel, Saul, David, Abner, and Joab [רד״ק, מלבי״ם].
