A severe punishment is decreed upon the family of Baasha, ensuring their absolute disgrace after death. The true weight of this curse is that not a single member of his household will receive a proper burial in a grave [רלב״ג].

Instead, a grim fate awaits them, detailed specifically by where they happen to die. Those who meet their end within the city will be consumed by dogs, while anyone who dies out in the country will be left for the birds of the sky.
