They urge him to come down to them in any manner and to whatever extent he wishes [מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ].

Beyond simply welcoming the king, the speakers make a firm commitment regarding the wanted man. There is a general consensus among the commentators that the speakers take the burden of the capture entirely upon themselves. They declare that it is their full responsibility and personal obligation to secure the fugitive and surrender him directly into the king's hands [רש״י, מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ].
