The collapse of the Babylonian kingdom will be absolute, leaving its land and vast wealth entirely exposed to invading forces. This total defeat targets Chaldea, referring either to the physical territory itself or to the entire Chaldean nation [רד״ק, ביאור שטיינזלץ].

The invasion will bring about a state of complete surrender. Rather than mounting a defense, the citizens will not even attempt to fight back. Instead, the people themselves will be reduced to mere plunder [מצודת ציון], essentially becoming part of the spoils left behind on the battlefield once the conflict ends [מלבי״ם].

The invading armies will capture an enormous amount of property [מצודת דוד]. Typically, during a war, a defeated nation will try to hide or destroy its valuables to prevent them from falling into enemy hands. However, this defeat will be entirely different. The conquerors will easily find abundant riches, discovering more than enough treasure to fully satisfy their desires [מלבי״ם].
