Job 15:15Sefaria

The absolute perfection of God naturally highlights the limits and flaws of every created being, even the most elevated spiritual entities. When considering the angels, the primary approach among commentators is that God does not fully rely on His heavenly court. Because He sees their true nature, their underlying flaws, and their ultimate end, He places no absolute trust in them Another perspective views this lack of trust as a matter of existence itself. God does not grant the angels an independent reality; rather, they constantly depend on His divine influence just to survive

On a more personal level directed at Job, this idea serves as a sharp argument. Even if God previously called a person upright, He never places absolute trust in the righteous while they live in this world. He does not attach His name to them during their lifetime because there is always a risk they might spoil and sin [אלשיך].

This reality extends to the heavens themselves, representing either the heavenly host [רש״י, מצודת דוד] or the celestial spheres that drive creation [מלבי״ם, תקות אנוש]. These celestial bodies are formed from material that is clean, pure, and brilliantly shining Yet, despite being made of a substance far brighter and cleaner than anything human, they are still considered flawed and unclean when compared to God's infinite perfection Even these heavenly lights, which possess no evil inclination, carry their own guilt and imperfections. For instance, the moon once complained and had its light diminished as a result [אלשיך].

Ultimately, a powerful point emerges: if the angels and the heavens themselves are not completely pure before God, mortal humans certainly cannot claim any sort of perfection.
