The wall had not been entirely destroyed in the past, but rather required the sealing of numerous gaps and fractures. However, alongside this news, the adversaries discover a crucial piece of information. Even though the walls stand whole and unbroken, the doors have not yet been installed in the city gates [מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. The entrances to Jerusalem remain wide open [רש"י].
