Alternatively, he may have still been sick when he said it, speaking about the future through divine inspiration and complete faith. Because of this, any person suffering from an illness who prays with a broken heart can draw strength from this moment, trusting that God will hear their prayer just the same [רד״ק].

He issues a sharp command for his enemies to depart. This is a direct demand for them to step back and stop causing him trouble [אלשיך]. He speaks with the clear knowledge that they no longer have any power over him [מצודת דוד] and that all their schemes against him will now fail [מאירי]. These foes are characterized as people who actively do evil, attacking him from every direction [ביאור שטיינזלץ]. They are oppressors whose wicked actions stand in stark contrast to his own good deeds [אבן עזרא], and they are the very people who take joy in seeing him suffer [מאירי].

The foundation of his sudden confidence is clear: God heard the sound of his weeping. His prayer was fully accepted, and God provided his healing [מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. The tears mentioned here are not sudden; they refer directly to the intense crying he spoke of earlier, when he promised to weep before God night after night [אלשיך].
