A grand deception is set into motion to gather a targeted group of people into a single location. To complete his plan, Jehu initiates a massive assembly, summoning all Baal worshippers from across the land to attend a festival day [מלבי״ם]. The message spread throughout Israel is carefully designed to lure the believers. Jehu announces that under his reign as the new king, the worship of Baal will rise and thrive. If these worshippers previously felt rejected, they are now promised a central place in society. In return for this new status, they are required to attend the event and show their support for the king [שטיינזלץ].

The response to this call is absolute. Not a single person is absent from the event as the masses flood into the temple of Baal. The gathering creates a scene of extreme crowding, packing the location to absolute capacity with no empty space remaining [שטיינזלץ]. The sheer volume of people fills the entire structure, stretching continuously from the entrance on one side all the way to the parallel entrance on the opposite side [מצודת דוד].
