Faced with a new opportunity, the priest willingly accepts the offer presented to him and actively prepares to join the journey. The proposal deeply pleases him, and he gives his full agreement to the plan [מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. Acting on this commitment, he personally takes charge of the ephod and the other ritual objects. Rather than allowing anyone else to transport them, he takes the items directly from their hands so that he can carry them himself [מצודת דוד, מלבי״ם]. Fully embedded in the mission, he steps right into the middle of the crowd. He joins the group making its way north, prepared to travel with them wherever their path might lead [מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ].
