Psalms 96:10Sefaria

In the days to come, humanity will fully recognize God’s absolute rule over the world. This future realization will not remain a mere abstract belief; it will directly transform both the physical and moral stability of the universe, ushering in an era of global peace and true justice [רש״י]. There are different views regarding how this realization will spread. Some suggest that the nations of the world will travel to bring offerings to the Temple, and upon returning to their own lands, they will proclaim God's sovereignty Others maintain that the nations will simply share this truth with one another Ultimately, this worldwide declaration serves as an admission that God personally guides the universe rather than abandoning it to the forces of nature [מלבי״ם]. It also reflects a deep recognition of His active care, especially after He redeems His people from exile with great honor [רד״ק].

Following this global revelation of His kingship, the world—which often appears fragile and unsteady—will stand completely firm. The laws of nature will become permanently fixed, and the foundations of the earth will no longer be at risk of crumbling This newfound stability will extend far beyond the physical realm, deeply affecting society and politics. The world will finally experience true calm, as nations will cease fighting one another [רד״ק]. Individuals will also take great care to avoid wronging their fellow human beings, bringing profound peace to the earth [מאירי]. Offering a unique perspective, one approach suggests that even when God judges the world with anger, that divine anger will not destroy the earth. Instead, it will serve to firmly establish and secure it [אלשיך].

Ultimately, God will judge the nations with perfect fairness. Some explain that this judgment will be carried out with absolute strictness, resulting in the destruction of the wicked Conversely, others emphasize that the judgment will actually go beyond the strict letter of the law. In this view, God will judge with mercy and kindness, actively focusing on the good merits of those standing before Him The method of this judgment will be deeply tied to the physical world. God will utilize the constant laws of nature to either reward or punish people according to their deeds, aligning the natural world perfectly with His divine providence [מלבי״ם]. In the end, this process of judgment will purify the nations, leading them all to communicate in a clear and pure language [רש״י].
