The promise of ultimate redemption and the final downfall of Gog at the end of days are sealed with absolute certainty. The prophetic vision presents the arrival of salvation and the realization of Gog's defeat as events that have already taken place, pointing directly to the promised era of salvation at the end of time [מצודת דוד, רד״ק, ביאור שטיינזלץ].

A central question arises regarding why a distant future event is described as though it is already in the past. Because this prophecy relates to a time far in the future, at the very end of a long exile, God presented the vision to Ezekiel as a fully completed reality. The moment God decrees and speaks a matter, it is considered firmly established in the physical world. Therefore, those destined for destruction are viewed as if they are already destroyed [אברבנאל, נחל שורק, חומת אנך].

In contrast, another perspective highlights the deeply hidden nature of this specific time. The exact date of this final day remains sealed and completely unknown to any prophet. From this viewpoint, the promised event does not yet exist in actual reality. Only when the moment finally happens will it transition from a potential state into actual existence. At that time, it will be fully recognized and recorded in history as the exact day God had promised [מלבי״ם].
