Isaiah 54:17Sefaria

כׇּל־כְּלִ֞י יוּצַ֤ר עָלַ֙יִךְ֙ לֹ֣א יִצְלָ֔ח וְכׇל־לָשׁ֛וֹן תָּקוּם־אִתָּ֥ךְ לַמִּשְׁפָּ֖ט תַּרְשִׁ֑יעִי זֹ֡את נַחֲלַת֩ עַבְדֵ֨י יְהֹוָ֧ה וְצִדְקָתָ֛ם מֵאִתִּ֖י נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃ {ס}

A divine promise of absolute security ensures that the people of Israel will overcome every form of opposition. This guarantee covers both physical threats on the battlefield and ideological or legal struggles, providing them with eternal safety as a reward from God.

When facing physical danger, any weapon prepared for war will ultimately fail. Some commentators explain that this refers specifically to weapons sharpened with hard flint stones designed expressly to fight against Israel Others understand it more broadly as any weapon created and readied for battle Regardless of how the weapons are formed, the promise remains the same: these tools of war will not harm their intended victims. Instead, they will shatter and completely lose their power

Beyond physical safety, this protection extends to verbal and legal confrontations. Any arrogant nation or individual who attempts to challenge Israel with legal claims or arguments will face defeat. Israel will successfully invalidate the claims of their opponents, proving them guilty while emerging innocent and completely unharmed This conflict also contains a deep spiritual and religious dimension. The efforts to attack the nation are not limited to physical wars or courtroom battles; they also include attempts to pull the people away from their faith, whether through sheer force or religious debates. In the end, the nations of the world will recognize the truth of the Torah, and Israel will expose the falsehood of foreign beliefs

This dual protection of body and spirit is not a temporary victory. The primary approach among commentators is that it represents an eternal heritage, guaranteed from the time of redemption forevermore. It serves as a just reward from God to His people for being His loyal servants and for their good deeds. This lasting heritage is closely tied to the merit of the Torah or the land of Israel [אבן עזרא], while some attribute it to the specific promise God made to His servant David [צאינה וראינה]. Looking at the broader picture of history, the survival and success of Israel, despite centuries of oppression by other nations, is no accident. They merit this enduring existence because of their inherent trait of loving-kindness, a quality that ultimately sustains the entire world [אדרת אליהו].
