The conclusion of Jeremiah’s address marks the full delivery of a divine warning. The prophet finishes speaking, having conveyed every detail of the message he was given. It is made clear that his speech includes every single warning and instruction previously detailed, ensuring nothing was left out of his precise mission [מצודת דוד].
There is a distinct emphasis that God sent the prophet to speak absolutely everything that was said, which resolves a specific tension from earlier in the address. Jeremiah had accused the people of deceit, claiming they had no real intention of listening to God. To the listeners, this harsh accusation sounded like Jeremiah’s personal frustration rather than a divine message. Therefore, it is clarified that even this direct rebuke was explicitly commanded by God. Although people possess free will and choose their own actions, God saw their hidden thoughts and their secret, prior agreement to ignore the prohibition against going down to Egypt. God then revealed their true intentions to His prophet. The people, however, assumed Jeremiah was hurling these accusations on his own accord. This misunderstanding ultimately led them to suspect that the entire prophecy was not from God at all, but rather an invention of the prophet's own mind [מלבי״ם].
