Ezekiel 40:25Sefaria

The vision of the Temple is characterized by a striking architectural uniformity, where the gates and chambers maintain a consistent design and precise measurements. The structure of the gate mirrors the others in the complex, featuring windows set into each of the gate's chambers and along the walls of the surrounding halls [מנחת שי]. These windows were distributed all around the structure, designed exactly like those found in the eastern and northern gates

A unique feature of this design reveals a deeper symbolic purpose. The windows are understood to be "dim" windows. Standard windows in buildings were typically constructed to be narrow on the exterior and wide on the interior, a design meant to capture and spread as much natural light as possible into the room. However, the windows of the Temple were built in the exact opposite manner: narrow on the inside and wide on the outside. This specific construction emphasizes that God does not require any external light to illuminate the interior of His sanctuary [רש״י, רד״ק].

The overall dimensions of the gate are recorded as fifty cubits by twenty-five cubits. In this architectural context, the measurement of fifty cubits actually refers to the height of the gate, rather than its horizontal length, while the twenty-five cubits describe the width of the outer gate [מצודת דוד].
