The guided tour of the future Temple complex continues as the prophet is led to examine additional entrances. After completing the measurements on the previous sides, the guiding angel brings him toward a newly built gate on the southern side of the courtyard to study its design. As the prophet walks southward, commentators differ on his exact path. One perspective suggests he moved from the eastern side to the southern side entirely within the outer courtyard [רש״י, מלבי ם וביאור שטיינזלץ]. Another view identifies the space he walked through as the Women's Courtyard [רד ק ואברבנאל].
Upon arriving, the angel measures the pillars and the entrance halls of this southern gate. The results show that these dimensions perfectly match those of the eastern and northern gates measured earlier. Although the pillars and halls are explicitly measured, the dimensions of the gate's guard chambers are left out of the account. This omission occurs because the size of the chambers is already factored into the overall dimensions of the gate. Consequently, it is understood that the length and width of the guard chambers in the southern gate are exactly the same as those in the first gates [מלבי״ם].
