The early family lines of humanity lay the groundwork for the major nations that would soon populate the region. From the children of Ham alone, a total of thirty distinct nations developed and established themselves.
Within this family tree, Cush had many sons, including several who are not named in the later accounts. Most of these sons banded together to form a single, unified nation that took on the name of Cush. However, two of his sons, Seba and Havilah, broke away from the main group to form their own independent nations. This same pattern of growth and division into separate, unique societies also took place among the descendants of Mizraim [מלבי״ם].
