The cycle of leadership in the region continues to shift as one ruler passes away and another steps into power. Following the death of Jobab, a new king named Husham assumes control.

The origins of this new ruler are traced back to the land of the Temanite. Rather than just a broad geographic location, this area specifically identifies a regional district that originally belonged to one of the chiefs descended from Esau [ביאור שטיינזלץ].
