I Chronicles 1:35Sefaria

בְּנֵ֖י עֵשָׂ֑ו אֱלִיפַ֛ז רְעוּאֵ֥ל וִיע֖וּשׁ וְיַעְלָ֥ם וְקֹֽרַח׃ {ס}

The historical genealogy shifts its focus to trace the lineage of Esau. This transition follows a deliberate and consistent pattern. Just as the record previously outlined the descendants of Abraham's son Ishmael, it mirrors that structure here by listing the descendants of Isaac's son Esau [רד״ק]. Beyond maintaining this structural parallel, the inclusion of Esau's family line serves an underlying purpose of honoring his father, Isaac [רש״י].

Despite this respectful inclusion, the descendants, including Eliphaz, are presented in a brief and rapid manner. The intention is to quickly conclude the focus on this particular family tree and move forward with the primary narrative [רש״י]. At the same time, outlining this genealogy sets the stage for an important historical record. It serves as an introduction to the kings of Edom, who established their rule long before the Israelites formed a monarchy of their own. Documenting these early Edomite kings is necessary to understand later political shifts. Eventually, the Edomites lost their sovereign status and fell under the rule of King David. It was only much later, as a direct consequence of the sins committed by the kings of Judah, that the Edomites rebelled and managed to reestablish their independent government [רד״ק].
