Following a night of severe and cruel abuse by the men of the city, a deeply wounded woman makes a final, desperate return to the house where her husband is staying. She reaches her destination just as the morning is about to break [מצודת דוד]. The brutal torture she endured leaves her completely drained of strength, and upon reaching the doorstep, her remaining energy runs out entirely.

Her physical condition is so severe that she lacks the ability to even knock on the door. She collapses at the entrance of the house and is unable to rise again.
