The future spiritual reward reserved for the righteous is divided into two distinct levels, creating a clear boundary between those who perfect themselves and those who uplift their surroundings. The first group consists of the wise and God-fearing who dedicate themselves to Torah and Commandments. In the future, these individuals will shine brightly [מצודת ציון]. This radiant state becomes possible because their physical bodies will be completely purified and the evil inclination will be removed [מלבי״ם]. Freed from these limitations, they will be able to enjoy the brilliance of the Divine Presence, much like the glowing face of Moses [יוסף אבן יחיא]. Their shine is compared to the brightness of the sky, representing a pure, clear entity whose role is to receive light.
In contrast, the second group is made up of individuals who are not satisfied with their own personal growth. Instead, they care deeply for others, teaching God's path and leading the masses toward goodness and justice. A clear spiritual hierarchy exists between these two groups. While those who focus on personal growth are compared to the sky, those who guide others are compared to the stars, which hold a much higher spiritual status [אבן עזרא]. This elevated reward operates on the principle of measure for measure: just as these leaders enlightened the public and taught them justice, they will earn the right to shine like stars themselves [מלבי״ם].
The promise that this radiant state will last forever applies equally to both groups [מצודת דוד]. This eternal and absolute reward is guaranteed because, in the future, all obstacles and causes of sin, such as the evil inclination and exile, will be entirely removed. Ultimately, the righteous will merit to leave the physical world through a painless kiss, allowing them to remain attached to God for all eternity [יוסף אבן יחיא].
