Transferring valuable items into the Temple required a precise and official process. As the silver, gold, and sacred vessels were brought in, they were physically handed over based on their exact weight to ensure complete accuracy [מצודת דוד].

These treasures were entrusted directly to Meremoth son of Uriah the priest, who served as the official in charge of the Temple [ביאור שטיינזלץ]. He was not alone in this responsibility, as additional priests and Levites were present to help manage the transfer and assist with the work.
