Genealogies trace the steady progression of family lines from one generation to the next. As this ancestral chain unfolds, it reaches a man named Elkanah, who is recognized as the father of Samuel.

Yet, as the family line moves forward, a striking omission occurs. Even though the generational record continues onward past Elkanah, Samuel himself is entirely absent from the list. The reason why his name is left out of the ongoing lineage remains an unexplained mystery.
