I Kings 10:12Sefaria

King Solomon utilized rare and precious almug wood, brought from distant lands, to elevate the architecture and artistry of both the Temple and his royal palace. This extraordinary material was incorporated into grand structures and sacred items, marking a level of craftsmanship previously unseen in Israel.

A major feature constructed from this wood was a supportive structure along the pathway connecting the royal palace to the House of God. The primary approach among commentators is that this was a sturdy railing The ascent connecting the two locations was not built with stairs. Instead, out of a desire for modesty, it was designed as a smooth incline, much like the ramp leading up to the altar. Because it lacked steps, those walking up the incline needed a handhold to lean on for support Other perspectives suggest different architectural uses for the wood, such as fine flooring [רש״י] or specialized pillars designed to hold up the ceilings of these monumental buildings [רד״ק].

Beyond structural elements, the precious wood was crafted into fine musical instruments. It was used to create exquisite lyres and harps, providing the Levites with instruments of the highest quality for their sacred music

The arrival of this wood was a historic event, unmatched in both scale and quality. The sheer volume of the timber was staggering, an achievement made possible only by King Solomon's highly developed naval fleet Furthermore, the wood itself was exceptionally large, strong, and of superior grade. Its impressive dimensions made it the perfect material to withstand the demands of such complex and varied craftsmanship
