This lavish offering stands as a profound expression of her deep admiration for King Solomon's legendary wisdom and immense wealth. She presents the king with one hundred and twenty talents of gold, precious stones, and an extraordinary abundance of spices. The sheer volume of these spices is entirely unprecedented, as never before had such a massive quantity of this specific, rare fragrance been brought to Jerusalem [רלב״ג, ביאור שטיינזלץ].

The repeated mention of the queen giving these items to Solomon highlights the unique nature of this particular exchange [חומת אנך]. First, there is a sharp contrast between the types of gifts offered. While gold was plentiful in her kingdom, these spices were exceptionally rare and virtually irreplaceable. By parting with such a unique treasure, the queen makes a genuine personal sacrifice, which is why her specific role as the giver is emphasized.
