Deep admiration for Solomon's wisdom naturally leads to an appreciation for the immense privilege enjoyed by those who spend their daily lives in his presence. While guests travel from distant places just to experience a few rare conversations with him, the attendants working in the palace are fortunate to hear his insights constantly and without interruption [ביאור שטיינזלץ].

There is a clear distinction made between the different groups of people surrounding the king. One approach suggests a broad view of this privilege, explaining that the first group refers to all the citizens of the kingdom who benefit from living under such excellent leadership. The focus then narrows to his immediate servants, whose physical closeness allows them to hear his wisdom on a regular basis [מלבי״ם].

Another perspective views this distinction as a hierarchy entirely within the walls of the royal court. In this view, the first group represents an exclusive inner circle of trusted advisors with whom the king shares his deepest thoughts and secrets. The mention of the servants then makes a powerful point: it is not only the high-ranking officials who are lucky. Even the most ordinary workers in the palace are incredibly fortunate, as they too are constantly surrounded by the wisdom echoing through the halls, able to listen and absorb it every single day [חומת אנך].
