God grants him an unprecedented blessing of material wealth, serving as a direct reward and compensation for the immense suffering he endured and the steadfastness he maintained throughout his tests. This final period of his life is marked by an abundance that far exceeds his original prosperity.

The specific numbers of his new livestock, including fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand pairs of oxen, and one thousand donkeys, are not random figures. They represent an exact doubling of the wealth he possessed before his trials began [אבן עזרא, מצודת דוד]. God provided this twofold increase as a reward for his pain. The divine attribute of strict justice agreed to grant him this double portion of goodness in recognition of the deep sorrow he experienced and his humble willingness to make do with little [אלשיך].

While Job's material possessions are exactly doubled, his family is restored differently. The number of children born to him after his trials remains exactly the same as the number he originally had. Commentators offer different perspectives on why his children were not doubled like his flocks. One approach explains that the original number of children was already the ideal amount, making any addition unnecessary. Furthermore, having fourteen sons and six daughters born to him in his old age would have caused great astonishment among those who saw him [תקות אנוש]. Another perspective notes a subtle shift in the way his new family is described, suggesting that Job remained deeply connected to the tragic loss of his first children. Because of this enduring emotional bond to his original family, his new children were not doubled in the same way as his earthly possessions [אלשיך].
