A parallel account of this journey exists in the Book of Ezra, but there, the town is listed by the shorter name of Nebo alone. This variation is common throughout the records. During that era, it was normal for towns and regions to be known by multiple names or popular nicknames. The written accounts simply captured the different ways the everyday people referred to their hometowns.
