Daniel 12:13Sefaria

After a series of grand visions and complex calculations regarding the future of the nation and the world, the final message turns deeply personal. An angel concludes the divine revelation by addressing Daniel directly, shifting the focus away from global events to the prophet’s own destiny. He is instructed to continue on his life's path until his days are fulfilled and his time on earth naturally concludes, as death is the inevitable end for all flesh

Following the end of his life, Daniel is promised an eternal, peaceful rest in the Garden of Eden, where he will take his rightful place alongside the rest of the righteous Yet, this peaceful rest is not the final chapter. He is assured that he will eventually rise from the dust during the resurrection of the dead to claim his destined reward in the World to Come. This future portion is described metaphorically as a lot, borrowing from the human practice of dividing land and inheritance When he awakens at the End of Days, Daniel will finally grasp the complete meaning of the profound prophecies he witnessed during his lifetime [ביאור שטיינזלץ].

While the primary approach understands this as a private assurance from the angel to Daniel, an alternative perspective suggests a broader audience. According to this view, the message is actually spoken by Daniel himself, directed at any wise individual. It serves as an instruction for people to go about their lives and not obsessively calculate or search for the exact time of the ultimate redemption, but rather to wait patiently for God to decree the arrival of the redeemer However, this interpretation is generally rejected, as the surrounding context clearly indicates that the angel is speaking intimately and exclusively to Daniel [אבן עזרא].
