Exodus 39:5Sefaria

וְחֵ֨שֶׁב אֲפֻדָּת֜וֹ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָלָ֗יו מִמֶּ֣נּוּ הוּא֮ כְּמַעֲשֵׂ֒הוּ֒ זָהָ֗ב תְּכֵ֧לֶת וְאַרְגָּמָ֛ן וְתוֹלַ֥עַת שָׁנִ֖י וְשֵׁ֣שׁ מׇשְׁזָ֑ר כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁה׃ {ס}

The creation of the priestly garments required careful planning and precise techniques. The belt of the Ephod was not made as a separate accessory to be added later. Instead, it was woven as an inseparable part of the main garment itself. The material extended outward from both the right and left sides, allowing the priest to wrap it securely around his body. This belt was made using the exact same method as the rest of the garment, utilizing the same precious materials. It was woven from threads of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet, combined with finely twisted linen.

Throughout the account of making the priestly clothing, there is a recurring reminder that the work was done exactly as God commanded Moses. This constant repetition stands in contrast to the general construction of the Tabernacle, where the command is not restated after every individual detail. This pattern teaches that the artisans did not rely on their own personal ideas, even regarding minor details or new elements that were not explicitly written in the original instructions. Everything was executed based on an oral tradition passed down from Moses, or the chief artisan's understanding aligned perfectly with what was communicated at Sinai [העמק דבר].

Beyond simply following instructions accurately, this repeated emphasis reveals the inner mindset of the workers. It shows that with every single action they performed, their pure intention was focused entirely on fulfilling the will of God [ספורנו].
