Exodus 39:27Sefaria

The creation of the priestly garments highlights a fundamental equality that unites all those who serve in the sanctuary. While the original instructions clearly separated the High Priest from the regular priests, the actual construction phase focuses on the practical work and groups together the clothing common to all the priests The narrative specifically groups all the woven linen garments together because, during the making of these items, there was no need to distinguish between the clothes of Aaron and those of his sons. The weaving process was exactly the same for all of them.

The primary approach among commentators is that the tunic was completely identical for Aaron and his sons. Although the initial instructions only mentioned a checkered, woven tunic for Aaron, in practice, his sons wore identical checkered tunics, with no distinction between them in this specific garment Additionally, a subtle emphasis in the account indicates that every single priest had his own personal bag to store his tunic

These garments were crafted from fine linen, and the focus on this material teaches essential rules about how the fabric had to be produced. The threads were required to be six-ply, folded six times and twisted together. Using this exact material and spinning method was an absolute requirement. Any deviation from this process completely disqualified the garment from being used in the Tabernacle service

Because the narrative groups the shared woven garments together, the golden headplate is delayed to the end of the account. This intentional shift in order serves to conclude the description of the clothing with a uniquely holy and beloved item, mirroring how the Ark of the Covenant was used to open the description of the Tabernacle's construction
