By eliminating a hostile foreign enclave from the very heart of the land, a lingering sense of national weakness was erased, paving the way for a highly organized and firmly established government [ביאור שטיינזלץ]. Following this victory, David experienced a continuous and compounding rise in power [מצודת דוד]. This expansion was not a slow, gradual progression. Instead, every new stage of his rise was monumental and highly significant in its own right [חומת אנך]. Furthermore, this period of immense growth was not limited to material wealth or political dominance; it deeply encompassed his emotional well-being and spiritual joy [מלבי״ם].

The driving force behind this unprecedented success was the direct involvement of God. As the Master of all heavenly and earthly armies, God stood firmly by David's side, ensuring his victory over every military force that opposed him [רד״ק].

Yet, alongside this overwhelming military support, there was a profound spiritual dynamic at play. Despite his immense achievements and rising power, David maintained total humility and never allowed arrogance to take root in his heart. It was precisely because of this deep humility that he merited having the Divine presence rest upon him, ultimately transforming him into a living vessel for God's presence in the world [חומת אנך].
