King David’s deep devotion and love for the future Temple motivate him to go beyond his official duties. His strong desire and profound satisfaction in the House of God lead him to make a deeply personal contribution.

Driven by this intense love, David reveals that he possesses a special, private treasure, consisting of a personal collection of gold and silver that he had gathered for himself. He chooses to donate this private wealth entirely to the Temple project.

This contribution stands apart from the materials he had already gathered. As [רד״ק] notes, this gift is given in addition to everything that was previously prepared. While the earlier materials were gathered and designated for specific purposes as part of the Temple’s official blueprint, this private donation is a voluntary offering that goes far beyond all those early preparations.
