I Chronicles 29:12Sefaria

Every human achievement, material wealth, and position of power ultimately rests on the providence and will of God. Recognizing that a person holds no truly independent ownership in this world, but rather receives everything through divine kindness, is the foundation for understanding the true source of success. The primary approach among commentators is that all abundance flows directly from God. This includes not only material riches but also the honor that naturally accompanies them. As [רש״י] explains, honor and wealth are deeply connected concepts. The vast property and capital a person accumulates are essentially what bring them honor, and all of it originates entirely from God.

God exercises absolute rule over all humanity, a point emphasized by [רלב״ג]. This authority fundamentally changes the nature of what it means to receive a gift from Him. [מלבי״ם] draws a sharp contrast between human and divine giving. When a human being gives a gift, the object leaves their possession and becomes the independent property of the receiver. God's giving operates differently. Because He maintains constant rule over everything, any wealth or status granted to a person remains with them only as long as God continues to desire it. True power and strength never leave His hands to become the permanent property of a human being.

Consequently, God holds the exclusive ability to grant greatness and strength to anyone He favors. Building on this idea, [מלבי״ם] notes that God can alter human reality at any given moment. He maintains the constant ability to impoverish one person while enriching another, directing the flow of success entirely according to His ongoing will.
