Gathering materials for the construction of the Temple requires a profound shift in perspective regarding wealth and ownership. The vast abundance of silver, gold, and other materials collected for this purpose represents a massive accumulation of money [רד״ק] and wealth [מצודת ציון]. Yet, despite the immense resources involved, a deep recognition emerges that all of it actually belongs to God.
A fundamental principle is established that human beings do not possess true ownership over their property. All riches originate directly from God's hand. Therefore, when individuals donate toward the building of the Temple, they are not giving away their own personal funds or acting out of their own independent power. Instead, they are simply returning to God the very gifts that He had already granted them.
