Zadok son of Immer receives special mention for his individual contribution to the project. He is singled out because he was not part of the broader group of priests who were previously noted for their work, making it necessary to record his efforts separately [מצודת דוד].

Following his section, the construction effort is taken up by Shemaiah son of Shecaniah. His regular duty involves guarding the eastern gate, a role that specifically refers to protecting the eastern entrance of the Temple courtyard. This particular entrance is actually the exact same location referred to later in the record as the Inspection Gate [מלבי"ם].
