II Chronicles 31:21Sefaria

וּבְכׇֽל־מַעֲשֶׂ֞ה אֲשֶׁר־הֵחֵ֣ל ׀ בַּעֲבוֹדַ֣ת בֵּית־הָאֱלֹהִ֗ים וּבַתּוֹרָה֙ וּבַמִּצְוָ֔ה לִדְרֹ֖שׁ לֵאלֹהָ֑יו בְּכׇל־לְבָב֥וֹ עָשָׂ֖ה וְהִצְלִֽיחַ׃ {פ}

King Hezekiah's absolute dedication to spiritual matters brought about extraordinary achievements, reflecting a rare harmony between an initial spark of inspiration, consistent action, and ultimate success in serving God. His commitment spanned every aspect of spiritual life. Whether it involved the service in the House of God, the study of Torah, or the fulfillment of the Commandment, Hezekiah approached everything with complete devotion [מצודת דוד]. This devotion meant acting with a perfectly whole heart, entirely free from personal motives or hidden agendas. Because of this profound purity of heart, he earned heavenly assistance, allowing him to succeed in every endeavor he undertook [מלבי"ם].

There is another remarkable layer to his success, highlighting the internal struggle that often accompanies doing good deeds. Typically, when a person feels inspired to study Torah or perform a Commandment, their negative inclination tries to cool that enthusiasm by introducing doubts, eventually causing the initial desire to fade. Hezekiah’s unique greatness was that the warmth and passion of his actions never cooled down. In every task he began, he engaged his entire heart, effectively harnessing both his positive and negative inclinations toward his spiritual goals. As a result, he not only finished what he set out to do without losing his initial fire, but he also achieved far beyond his original plans [חומת אנך].
