Following the prophet's instructions, the woman creates a private, enclosed space for herself and her sons to experience the unfolding miracle. Inside their home, a clear division of labor takes shape between the mother and her children.
The sons are responsible for gathering and bringing the empty vessels. The mother remains standing in one spot, holding her original jug of oil. She does not move from her place; instead, her sons continuously run back and forth, handing her the empty containers one after another [מצודת דוד]. As they bring each new vessel, she alone performs the act of pouring the oil to fill them [ביאור שטיינזלץ].
