A final judgment of absolute destruction is decreed upon the royal dynasty of Ahab. Commentators agree that the comparison made to past kings guarantees an identical fate for his family. Just as the former royal houses of Jeroboam and Baasha were entirely wiped out, Ahab's family line will be completely erased. Not a single survivor will remain, and no heir will ever rise to continue his dynasty.
