The prophecy of wrath reaches its climax with a harsh and absolute decree against Queen Jezebel. The prophet specifically emphasizes her punishment to Jehu because men in power, such as kings and military officers, traditionally showed respect and honor to women, particularly queens and noblewomen. To prevent Jehu from showing her any mercy or royal courtesy, the prophet makes it clear that his very anointing as king is for the explicit purpose of fulfilling this prophecy in its entirety. The decree against her must be carried out without hesitation [אברבנאל].

This disaster is destined to take place on the allotted estate of Jezreel [מצודת ציון]. Furthermore, her body will not receive a proper burial [ביאור שטיינזלץ]. This grim reality comes to pass because when people eventually went to bury her, they found nothing remaining except her skull and the palms of her hands, leaving no body to actually inter [רד״ק]. The moment the young prophet finishes delivering this severe message, he immediately opens the door and flees the scene [ביאור שטיינזלץ].
