A secret and urgent mission to crown a new king requires precision, careful identification, and absolute secrecy. The prophet must set out on his journey quickly, ensuring he acts before the current king can return to the area [מלבי״ם, אברבנאל]. Because the prophet does not know Jehu personally, he must first carefully locate and identify him in the city, where he is sitting alongside the other army commanders [מלבי״ם].
Once Jehu is identified, the prophet must instruct him to stand up, separating him from his companions and the men around him [מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. To achieve the highest level of secrecy, the prophet is told to bring Jehu into an inner room, deep within another room [רד״ק, מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. The primary approach among commentators is that this complete isolation guarantees that absolutely no one will overhear the prophet's message [רלב״ג].
This strict confidentiality is necessary to keep the news hidden from the public and the current king. Revealing the plan too soon would ruin the rebellion and put Jehu's life in immediate danger [מלבי״ם, אברבנאל]. Due to this severe risk, the prophet is ordered to flee the moment the meeting ends, without delaying for even a moment [מלבי״ם, אברבנאל].
