Upon receiving the grim report about the end of Jezebel, Jehu recognizes the exact fulfillment of divine prophecy. The messengers return to inform him that only mere fragments of her body remain [ביאור שטיינזלץ]. In response, Jehu declares that this is the word of God, acknowledging the justice of the divine decree and confirming that the prophecy has fully come to pass [אברבנאל, ביאור שטיינזלץ].
This horrific end is not viewed as a random or accidental occurrence [מצודת דוד]. Rather, the very fact that the dogs dragged her remains specifically to the plot of Naboth is the direct result of God's spoken decree [מלבי״ם].
This specific location brings both a geographical and moral closure to the events. Commentators agree that the area in Jezreel where this took place is none other than Naboth's vineyard. The physical connection is quite literal: the window from which Jezebel looked out opened directly toward Naboth's vineyard, which sat immediately adjacent to Ahab's palace. Therefore, when she was thrown from the window, she fell straight down into the vineyard itself. It was right there, in that very field, that the dogs consumed her flesh [רלב״ג, רד״ק, אברבנאל].
