Building the Tabernacle required creating a strong and stable structure. This was especially important because the boards used to construct it were incredibly tall. To support such a massive framework, a reliable method was needed to keep the walls securely in place.
To address this, each board was crafted with two protruding pegs, which functioned like connecting handles. These pegs were designed to interlock perfectly with one another. When assembling the walls, the builders connected the pieces by fitting the protruding pegs of one board directly into corresponding notches on the neighboring board. This precise interlocking design locked the pieces together, ensuring that all the boards of the Tabernacle remained completely stable and secure.
