Isaiah 59:7Sefaria

A society completely consumed by injustice reaches a point where doing wrong is no longer an accidental mistake, but a deeply ingrained second nature. The desire to commit crimes penetrates every level of life, moving from physical action to deep thought, and finally to destructive results on the ground. This begins with an active, physical chase after evil The habit of sinning becomes so rooted in the people that they move toward crime automatically, without any hesitation or prior thought They do not merely rush to the scene of the crime; they hurry to commit the act of murder itself without pausing [מלבי״ם].

This eagerness to shed innocent blood signals a total collapse of the justice system. Under normal circumstances, judges handling capital cases are obligated to wait, weigh the evidence carefully, and actively search for ways to acquit the accused. Instead, these judges operate in the exact opposite manner, hurrying to execute innocent people [רד״ק, חומת אנך]. False witnesses share this exact same speed, rushing to give fake testimony with the very same passion and enthusiasm that a righteous person feels when trying to fulfill God's will [אברבנאל].

The evil does not stop at physical actions; it flows from a deeply corrupted mind. Their inner thoughts are in complete agreement with their wicked deeds [מלבי״ם]. Within the legal system, this points directly to lawyers and legal representatives who pretend to study the law to bring justice to light. In reality, however, all their mental energy is dedicated entirely to manipulation, trouble, and lies [אברבנאל].

The final result of this behavior is widespread robbery and ruin. The primary approach among commentators is that wherever these people walk, their physical paths and daily routines are built entirely on destruction and theft [מצודת ציון]. Alternatively, this concept describes the mind itself. The intellect has paved a permanent, well-worn road that leads every new thought and idea straight toward robbery and ruin This is clearly seen in financial disputes. Instead of seeking peace, compromise, or fair justice, the only goal of both the plaintiff and the defendant is to completely rob and destroy one another
