While the world of idols is destined to collapse, the bond between God and the Israelites remains stable and eternal. A stark contrast exists between false, man-made idols and God, who serves as the true portion and inheritance of His people. Unlike these false idols, God is the Creator of all reality [מצודת דוד].

Beyond being the Creator, God specifically chose Jacob and each of his tribes to form His special, inherited nation [רש״י, מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. He possesses absolute control over all heavenly and earthly forces. His supreme status as the Creator of everything, combined with His choice of the Israelites as His inheritance, provides a firm guarantee. It ensures that He will keep His promise to destroy Babylon and bring salvation to His people [מצודת דוד].
