איוב, פרק ל״ג, פסוק ב׳

Job 33:2Sefaria

הִנֵּה־נָ֭א פָּתַ֣חְתִּי פִ֑י דִּבְּרָ֖ה לְשׁוֹנִ֣י בְחִכִּֽי׃

A profound declaration of readiness marks the end of a long period of internal reflection and preparation. Elihu announces that his thoughts are fully formed and arranged in advance. The moment he begins to speak, his words will flow clearly and swiftly, without any hesitation or delay [מצודת דוד].

The physical organs of speech serve as a map for the journey from private thought to public expression. The palate and the tongue symbolize the hidden, internal realm. This is the deep space where careful investigation, understanding, and personal clarification take place. The mouth, by contrast, represents external communication. Opening the mouth is simply the final step of releasing conclusions that have already been thoroughly processed and refined within [מלבי״ם].

Beyond mere mental preparation, this perfect alignment between the internal and external realms demonstrates absolute integrity. The fact that the words leaving the mouth are completely identical to the thoughts formed on the palate proves that the speaker's inner character matches his outward presentation. The hidden and the revealed are exactly the same. Consequently, the message is delivered with pure honesty, entirely free from hypocrisy, flattery, or favoritism toward anyone [אלשיך].
