Ezekiel 28:17Sefaria

Arrogance born of outward perfection carries the power to blind a person completely, stripping away inner understanding and guaranteeing a spectacular ruin. When physical beauty and worldly splendor inflate the ego, true wisdom is the first casualty, as a genuinely wise individual recognizes the folly of boasting in material gifts

The manner in which this wisdom is ruined is understood in two primary ways. One approach explains that the intellect is corrupted simply because of the overwhelming pride in one's own beauty and brilliance Another perspective suggests a more tragic loss, where the arrogance destroys the person's wisdom along with their radiant capacity for insight This loss may even include the departure of the Divine presence that once rested upon them [מלבי״ם].

As a direct consequence of this overwhelming pride, a dramatic fall follows. The arrogant ruler is cast down from a lofty royal throne directly to the earth, reduced to a state of absolute lowliness [מצודת דוד]. The downfall is not a private affair but a public exhibition of shame. He is put on display before other kings, serving as a spectacle of disgrace. These onlookers stare with condemnation and contempt, mirroring the harsh gaze of enemies who stare at a rival during his collapse to shame him. Furthermore, their stares are filled with profound shock and astonishment as they witness the complete reversal of fortune, contrasting his former immense greatness with his current pathetic reality
