Ezekiel 45:19Sefaria

A future vision of the Temple dedication on the first day of the month of Nisan introduces a unique set of rituals. In the past, new moon sacrifices never involved placing blood on the Temple's doorposts, making this future ceremony a distinct departure from historical practices [אברבנאל]. These specific steps complete a broader set of directives, joining with earlier instructions to form a full picture of the blood application process, which also includes placing blood on the horns of the altar [רד״ק].

During this ceremony, the priest takes blood from the sin offering and applies it to the doorposts of the main structure. Though instructed in the singular, the action applies to all the doorposts. The primary approach among commentators is that this refers to the Sanctuary, while some expand this to include the Entrance Hall as well [מלבי״ם]. An ancient tradition also interprets this location as the threshold of the building

Next, the blood is applied to four specific corners near the altar. Commentators offer different perspectives on the exact location of these corners. One approach suggests that the area in question refers to a part of the altar's actual structure, such as the corners of its roof or its surrounding ledge Another perspective maintains a more literal reading, identifying the location as the courtyard immediately surrounding the altar, traditionally known as the Priests' Courtyard

Finally, blood is placed on the gateposts of the inner courtyard. The primary approach among commentators identifies this space as the Israelites' Courtyard, which is considered inner because it sits further inside than the outer Women's Courtyard However, others identify this inner area as the Priests' Courtyard, as it is situated even deeper within the complex, closest to the Entrance Hall and the altar
