A profound shift occurs when a person turns their gaze away from the external world and looks inward. While those who are wicked distance themselves from God and ultimately perish, a different path emerges for the one who values a relationship with the Divine above all else [רד״ק, אבן עזרא, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. Recognizing this connection reveals that being near to God is the ultimate good, offering true happiness, enduring existence, and spiritual success [אבן עזרא, מלבי״ם, מאירי]. This closeness does not happen passively; it is achieved when an individual actively takes steps to draw near to the Creator [מצודת דוד]. From another perspective, this nearness can also represent a peaceful acceptance of hardship. In this view, encountering God's strict justice is inherently good, as it purifies a person from physical desires and removes the urge to depend on the fleeting pleasures of the material world [אלשיך].

Rather than relying on worldly affairs, the ideal response is to place one's complete trust in God, seeking shelter under His personal care and guidance [ביאור שטיינזלץ, אלשיך, מלבי״ם, מצודת דוד]. This deep trust serves a greater purpose: to share and declare God's actions. There are different ways to understand what these actions entail. One approach focuses on God's wondrous deeds in the physical world [מצודת ציון]. By observing the wisdom of nature, the beauty of creation, and the perfect works of the Creator, a person can elevate themselves and reach a higher level of spiritual awareness [רד״ק, אבן עזרא, מצודת דוד, מאירי].

Alternatively, these actions can be understood as divine missions, much like the tasks given to an angel. In this sense, the focus is on the holy spirit and prophecy that God places in a person's heart, empowering them to deliver His messages to the people of Israel [רש״י, אלשיך, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. Building on this idea, the missions can also refer to the spiritual workings of the soul itself, which acts as a divine messenger sent to serve God on earth [מלבי״ם].
