A divine mission often requires stepping out of sacred spaces and directly into the daily lives of the people. God commands the prophet to expand his reach, delivering a direct and public warning to the nation. Instead of remaining in one place and waiting for the residents of Judah to travel to Jerusalem, the prophet must proactively journey into their cities. By bringing the message of warning and rebuke directly to their ears, the hope is that the people will recognize their errors and change their ways [רד״ק].
Beyond traveling to other cities, the prophet is also instructed to make a highly visible stand in the streets and marketplaces [מצודת ציון], speaking in a completely open and public manner [רד״ק, מלבי״ם]. Delivering a speech solely within the House of God, the traditional center of gathering, is no longer sufficient. Taking the message into the streets of Jerusalem ensures that it reaches the entire public. This broad approach guarantees that the divine warning is heard by women, children, and anyone else who might not have been present at the Temple when the prophecy was originally delivered [אברבנאל].
The prophet is tasked with sharing the exact message God spoke to him [מצודת דוד]. This declaration includes severe warnings of impending punishment [מלבי״ם] and the harsh language of a curse [רד״ק]. Ultimately, this public outcry serves a highly practical purpose. The goal is to urge the people to actively fulfill the commandments, honoring the very conditions of the covenant established between God and His nation [מצודת דוד].
